Have you ever noticed that when people look at your bowls, they always turn it over and look at the foot? That final turning task of removing the tenon, finishing the foot and, perhaps, adding a decorative groove or two can truly elevate the quality of your work. The challenge is to have multiple ways to reverse mount bowls of different diameters, depths, and rim designs.
At our club meeting, various members will demonstrate how to put a professional finish on your bowl bottoms by using jam chucks, vacuum chucks, jumbo jaws and more. (No belt sanders allowed!)
Show & Tell– We want to have a Show & Tell segment at every demo meeting, so everyone can share their progress and learn from the other members. Please bring your recent work and tell us what you learned when making it.
Raffle– Bring a few dollars for the Craft Supplies gift certificate raffle.
Volunteers Wanted- We’re always looking for club members who have a knowledge to share and woodturning skills they can demonstrate to our members. Please contact John Skarja to discuss.
