Bring the following for the hand-on session

  • Your skew chisels
  • A rough-turned cylinder of wood for spindle-turning (grain runs parallel to the lathe bed)
  • Be sure the wood is knot-free and straight-grained
  • If you don’t have the appropriate wood, bring a roughing gouge, as the club may be able to supply a few logs for this hands-on session
  • Bring your safety glasses or face shield
