PROGRAM – September is the beginning of a new year; we plan to start the year with a
safety reminder. Dust being a constant problem in any shop; Dr. Jon Stevenson will discuss the health effects of wood dust and precautions we can take. Getting back to basics, Romaine Meller will demonstrate using the spindle gouge and the spindle roughing gouge. These tools are ideal to build your turning skills. As we are approaching the holidays, we may want to turn ornaments. John Skarja will demonstrate some basics for turning finials. We will discuss form, wood selection and technique.
